Special thanks to Momma Millie's bakery and the Roller Roost for hosting students in 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade! Our students got cupcake decorating lessons and learned about owning and operating a bakery. After that, they burned off some energy skating and playing laser tag. It was an awesome day, and we are so grateful for your kindness!

Due to forecasted weather, we will be postponing SHAMS Mini-THON event to Monday, May 12, 2025.

Parents and Caregivers,
Please be advised that dismissal times may be impacted by the road construction and repairs necessitated by the water main break near Berne and Columbia Streets. Expect delays today. Road closures may impact our ability to drop students at their normal stops on busses 4 and 6. Parents that reside in this area may want to contact your child’s building office and pickup your children at the school today. Otherwise, we will determine a new drop-off point as close as we can get to the original stops. Those families will be called directly this afternoon. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Dinner plans? We’ve got you covered!
Head to The Southside Grill on Tuesday, May 6th from 5:00–8:30 PM and support Schuylkill Haven Middle School PBIS while you dine!
A night out that gives back—what’s better than that?
Bring your appetite and your Hurricane pride!

5th grade STEM class has been actively working on a paper airplane challenge. Students research their designs, test prototypes, and refined their planes based on the results. Congratulations to our top flyers, Devyn Marks, Lex Adams, and Jackson Ohl!

On Friday, April 11th, the Elementary and Middle School K’Nex teams traveled to IU 29 to compete in the STEM K’Nex Challenge! The teams worked tirelessly on their designs since February. The challenge was to find a problem in infrastructure. Haven Blue (Fifth Grade) designed a conveyor belt system to help boats travel safely under bridges. Haven Gold (Fourth Grade) designed a drawbridge solution to allow trucks to safely travel under the Cressona Bridge. Both teams designed blueprints and made presentations to a panel of judges. Out of nine schools, Haven Gold took second place! Congratulations to our competitors – we can’t wait to see what you design in next year’s challenge!

Mrs. Poletti’s math classes participated in an egg hunt to review operations of fractions with unlike denominators.
