Please also remember that you can email Mrs. McGinty at mcgintym@shasd.org for a “check in” at any time – just remember it’s all confidential - unless you’re talking about hurting yourself, hurting someone else, or if someone is hurting you.

The Pennsylvania Bullying Prevention Consultation Line
(866-716-0424) is a toll-free number available to school staff, students and parents across the Commonwealth. The consultation line offers discussion of effective strategies and resources available to deal with school-based bullying.

Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late.

THE MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT LINE can be reached 24/7 at 1-855-284-2494. This is a mental health and crisis support line for people dealing with anxiety or other difficult emotions. Callers will be able to speak with staff who are trained in trauma-informed principles and will listen, assess the person’s needs, triage, and refer to other local supports and professionals as needed.

LGBTQI+ PROGRAMMING
Common Roads:
The Common Roads program is a space for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults in Central PA to find community, connection, and support. Our Common Roads groups provide social and educational programs for LGBTQ+ youth ages 12-17 and young adults ages 18-29. Our meetings are drop-in spaces, and therefore do not require referral or pre-registration. Here’s what we have planned for the month of May!

Passageways:
Passageways is a group specifically for transgender and non-binary folks ages 16 and up. The purpose of this group is to provide a safe space for people to discuss and discover their authentic selves with dignity and respect, while learning from the experiences of others. It is inclusive of all backgrounds, experiences and identities.
