Recent News
The 2024-25 School year brings new changes to the Schuylkill Haven Area High School Library. With ever-changing technology trends, the SHAHS Library is now the proud owner of ebooks and audiobooks. Students are able use the MackinVIA platform to access all items digitally; all they need is the school email and password.
The SHAHS Library has also recently added 300+ new popular fiction titles to its collection, including a variety of best sellers, awards winners, and teen favorites. Come see the updated SHAHS Library and check some books out today!
All library resources are free and available for everyone!

Search the SHAHS Library Catalog
Destiny is our library's OPAC, or Online Public Access Catalog. It allows students, faculty, and staff to search the library through the internet to find out what books and materials are available. This catalog replaced the old card catalogs and is more convenient and user friendly. Click the Destiny logo below to check it out!
Power Library
Power Library provides students with access to a variety of electronic resources and databases that they otherwise would not have. These resources are not available except as subscription services.
Access PA
Access PA is Pennsylvania’s Electronic Library, which provides students access to the collections and resources of libraries across the state. Access PA allows students to search every public, school, and academic libraries' holdings for materials. They may also loan print materials from PA libraries through the Interlibrary Loan program (ILL).
MackinVIA ebooks & Audiobooks
If we don't have the book you are looking for in your library, check out MackinVIA, a virtual library that contact hundreds of the most popular and trending books via ebooks and audiobooks. MackinVIA makes checking out books easy.
Students can login with their SHAHS email account and password and can check out materials for 21 days, once the 21 days is up, the book will be returned for you unless you renew. No fines ever! Click on the MackinVIA logo to check it out or login using the Clever app.
Research
Google is not always the best choice for research. Databases, such as the ones offered through the SHAHS Library, are credible, reliable sources for students to obtain research information. These quick links are meant to help students conduct research efficiently and effectively.

Additional Resources
Ms. Batz, the HS Librarian, is a great resource for information and assistance in researching. She holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science specializing in K-12 School Libraries.
